Circus Performances for Your Special Events

ADAGIO

Adagio is a form of acrobatic dance that involves a pair of performers doing stationary balances and movements. It can be seen in different settings, such as the professional circus, ballet, and pair skating. In adagio, one performer acts as a flyer who balances on the other performer, who is the base. The base stays in touch with the floor and supports the flyer in various poses. The base can also change their position, for example, by lying down, standing up, kneeling, or crouching.

HAND BALANCE

Hand Balance, also known as “Acrobalance” or “Hand to Hand” in some circus circles, is an ancient acrobatic discipline that involves balancing on the hands or head. The performers can execute various movements and acrobatics while maintaining their balance, either on the ground or on various kinds of surfaces. This discipline requires strength, flexibility, coordination, and concentration.

AERIAL LYRA

One of the most popular circus apparatuses is the aerial hoop. This is a steel ring that hangs from the ceiling and allows performers to do amazing aerial feats. Some of the benefits of using an aerial hoop are that it can be static, spinning, or swinging, depending on the desired effect. Moreover, there are many tricks that can be done on the hoop, such as the Candlestick, Bird’s Nest, and Crescent Moon. These tricks highlight the strength, flexibility, and grace of aerialists. The aerial hoop is also known by other names, such as the Lyra, aerial ring, or cerceau/cerceaux.

JUGGLING

One of the most challenging and spectacular arts is juggling. It involves manipulating and performing with one or more objects simultaneously, such as spinning them, balancing them, or tossing them in the air. The juggler must have excellent psychomotor skills and coordination to avoid dropping the objects. Juggling can use various parts of the body, but mainly the hands, feet, arms, and head.

Juggling is a classic circus attraction that attracts many audiences. The juggler can use different props, such as balls, sticks, or hoops. Some jugglers add more drama and risk by using objects like knives, fire torches, or chainsaws.

AERYAL SILKS

Aerial silks are a type of circus art that involves performing acrobatic and choreographic movements on silk fabrics that hang from the ceiling. The silks are flexible and allow the aerial dancers to create various poses and transitions at different heights, by wrapping, suspending, and dropping themselves. This art form combines and transforms elements from various disciplines, such as contemporary dance, circus arts, acrobatics, theater, and ballet. It also uses different devices that enable movements in the air and on the ground. Aerial silks are a versatile and expressive way of performing in the air.

STILL WALKING

Stilts are devices that allow people to stand and walk at an elevated level above the ground. They consist of long poles or pillars, usually made of wood or other materials, which have footrests or straps attached to them. Stilts enable performers to move around with agility and balance. Stilts have various applications, such as entertainment, cultural festivals, or recreational activities.

MAGICIAN

One of the most fascinating and captivating forms of performing arts is magic or illusion. A magician or illusionist can dazzle and astonish the audience with incredible tricks that defy logic and reality. These tricks often involve sleight of hand, such as making an object like a handkerchief vanish or making a card appear or disappear from a deck chosen by a spectator.

MIME

Mime is an amazing art form that uses the power of body language and gestures to tell stories, messages, or emotions. It is one of the oldest and most universal forms of artistic expression, because it can transcend linguistic and cultural differences. Mime can enrich drama or dance, by creating vivid scenes or characters, or by emphasizing feelings or emotions. Mime artists are talented performers who have mastered the art of mime and mesmerize their audiences with their expressive movements.

LOLLIPOP

If you are looking for a unique and exciting circus show, you might want to check out Lollipop. This is a special act that involves a steel hoop attached to a base on the ground, forming a candy-like shape. That is why it is called Lollipop. Unlike Aerial Lyra, which requires a lot of space and height, Lollipop can be performed anywhere. The artists on the Lollipop hoop can dazzle you and your guests with their amazing aerial acrobatics, showing off their skills in various tricks and positions.
