10 habits to start 2022 with the right foot

There’s no need to wait till new year’s eve to start making changes in your life. Why leave it for later when you can do it right now! In today’s blog, I will bring you a list of 10 habits that might not be life-changing but definitely will help you make minor improvements that will make a difference. You can thank me later! Keep in mind these are just ideas. You can modify them and get the most out of each of them!

Small Life-changing habits that will make a difference:

  • Live each moment to the fullest and be aware of the present. Live each day as if it was your last one because the past is gone, and there’s nothing you can change, so don’t worry about what already happened. Also, the future is not guaranteed, so don’t get anxious about what’s coming. If you stress too much about something before it happens, basically you put yourself through it twice.
  • Find comfort, pleasure, and warmth in simple things. Enjoy the little things in life, focus on the details and find a feeling of coziness, contentment, and well-being in them.
  • Walk more; the idea is to be moving, no matter what your job is or where you spend most of your time, try to take more steps every day. Supposedly the minimum number of steps we should take every day is 10.000. So keep that in mind when you go for a walk next time.
  • Limit the time you spend on your phone. Do you have an idea of how much time we waste on our phones every day? The answer is simple: a lot. Americans spend an average screen time of 5.4 hours on their phones daily. On a regular day, a person checks their phone 65 times. If we invested that time in something else, we could learn a new language, read a whole book, bake a cake, work out, etc… For example, we suggest you do this fun StepFlix Latin Cardio Workout so that you start getting into action.
  • Keep track of the special moments in a journal or photo album so that you can immortalize them, and whenever you check them out, it will bring you happy memories. For sure this is one of my favorite life-changing habits.

5 steps closer from the goal:

  • Organize your room before going to bed; that way, next morning, you’ll feel more motivated by seeing everything clean and neat.
  • Invest more time on yourself: Paint, write, think, meditate, pray, stretch, breath, dance, eat, enjoy the things you love, and learn to do all this without the need of being with someone else. The more we enjoy our solo time, the happier we can be.
  • Don’t expect things from other people, don’t rely on others. That’s the best way to avoid disappointments, frustrations, and arguments. And if you ever do something nice for someone else, make sure you do it because it comes purely from your heart and not because you’re expecting them to do the same for you.
  • Relax & rest: analyze if you’ve been getting enough sleep, set a time to go to bed so that you at least get 7 hours of sleep; that way, you can recharge your energy and activate yourself. Listen to your body and mind. If you feel tired, take a nap; if you feel pain, get a massage, and find a way to control your mind and body.
  • Be more positive: try to see the good in the bad. Take each chance to turn any unpleasant situation into a learning experience. Remember that you are in charge of your own life, so don’t give power to external elements, and if there’s something you can’t control, don’t stress about it and let it flow. Positive thinking will make you more optimistic, self-confident and people will want to spend more time with you.

You can choose to kick off with any of these life-changing habits, apply as many as you want in your life, and you’ll see how everything starts aligning and becoming better for you and the people surrounding you; I bet with these goals you will be closer to reaching true happiness.
